Clare and I live in Cambridge and have 2 teenage boys, Patrick & Joseph. Stories, characters and encouraging our children to read has always been important to us. These stories were created for our boys at bedtime when they were very young. They quickly became their favourites and had to be retold many times over. We eventually wrote them down, put them to rhyme and sent them to the publishers. We are so excited to have the first one published.
The stories all revolve around a group of 5 jungle friends whose favourite game is hide and seek. They all have a particular challenge that they need to overcome and need the help of their family and friends to get them through.
Is that a Zebra crossing? is the first story of Debra, who must cross a very busy road in order to play with her friends. It is a time when zebras, like many other creatures in Africa, are a rather plain beige colour. They cannot easily be seen through the smoke and the dust created by the trucks driving on the busy road and there are no safe places for the animals to cross. But with some quick thinking from Debra’s loving mum, they find a way to get the animals safely across the road and, in doing so, they create model for the rest of the world.
